Dubai Frame: Is It Worth Visiting?

The Dubai Frame is a 150-metre tall picture frame straddling Zabeel Park, opened in 2018. From the sky deck you see Old Dubai on one side and New Dubai on the other — the whole concept is "frame between past and future". It's smaller than it looks on Instagram and divides opinion. Here's whether it's for you.

What you actually get

Lift to the 48th-floor sky bridge (93 metres long), 20–30 minute visit with glass floor section, old-Dubai historical gallery on the ground floor, and a futurist mirror gallery on the way down. Clean, air-conditioned, well-signposted. Adult ticket: 50 AED.

What you see

North: Old Dubai — Deira, the creek, the souks, the port. South: New Dubai — Downtown, Burj Khalifa, Business Bay. The view is lower than Burj Khalifa's At The Top (93m vs 452m) but you see Burj Khalifa in context from here, which you can't do from the Burj itself.

When to go

Afternoon (16:00–17:00) is the best photo light. Avoid noon (direct sun, washed-out photos). Books-ahead recommended on weekends.

Worth it?

If you already did Burj Khalifa's At The Top — probably not, the view is lower. If you only have budget for one — the Frame is 1/3 the price and tells a story Burj Khalifa doesn't. For families with kids who like glass floors, it's a hit.

FAQ

How long does the Dubai Frame visit take?
60–90 minutes total including the walk through Zabeel Park. The sky bridge itself is 20–30 minutes.
Can I combine Dubai Frame with other attractions?
Yes — it's a 10-minute drive from the Dubai Museum in Al Fahidi and 15 minutes from the Dubai Garden Glow. The Frame + Museum combo is a classic half-day.
